My Piano Videos
I began to make video and audio recordings during lockdown as a way of sending gifts to friends for their birthday or simply to cheer them up. I also used them to keep the Piano Club going, meeting online and sharing our recordings with one another. Most importantly I found that it was the best way to hear what my students were playing in their online lessons without the vagaries of the WiFi connection. I would then make videos or audio recordings specifically for each student to help them with their individual practice. This proved especially helpful to them and for their ongoing progress.
Below are three videos as examples. The first is an example of a piano teaching video to help a student practise over the holidays. The second is a short extract of my student preparing to perform in a concert, used with his permission. The third is of me playing ‘as a gift’.
